A Dutch baby is very easy to put together and makes a terrific breakfast alternative to pancakes, especially when feeding a crowd. Making the batter is quick and the Dutch baby is baked in the oven, so there’s no standing over the stove flipping pancakes. We do love pancakes but some mornings it’s nice to sit back with some coffee while this bakes.
This recipe uses blackberries and apples, which is great combination. The nice thing about a Dutch baby is that you can make it your own by adding fruit of your choosing (avoid using fruit that is too wet or syrupy). For a larger gathering , double the recipe, use two pans, and make two versions!
