Blistered Shishito Peppers

This is a great quick appetizer that only takes 15 minutes to make. Summer and early fall are peak season for shishito peppers, making them readily available in most markets. Use your imagination and experiment with different seasonings.

Blistered Shishito Peppers

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb shishito peppers
    • 1/2 tsp sea salt
    • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    • 1/4 tsp onion powder
    • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
    2. Rinse peppers and pat dry.
    3. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
    4. Pour 2 tbsp olive oil on a baking sheet.
    5. Place the peppers in the baking sheet and toss to coat with oil.
    6. Sprinkle on the seasoning mix and toss to coat peppers.
    7. Roast for 10 minutes or until the peppers begin to blister.
    8. Remove from oven and serve.
